This notice explains what personal data The Luminary Candle Company collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it short and only collect what we need to send you candles. For any privacy question, contact us at hello@theluminary.uk.
The Luminary Candle Company (Rich & Leigh), based in Holyport, Berkshire, is the data controller for the information you give us. Our postal address is available on request and is confirmed at checkout.
Our lawful bases are performing our contract with you (fulfilling orders), our legitimate interests (running the shop and replying to you), and legal obligations (keeping records for tax).
Only the services that make an order happen: Stripe (payments), our delivery carrier (Royal Mail), our website host, and our email provider. We don’t sell your data or use it for advertising.
The shop uses your browser’s local storage to remember your basket. That stays on your device and isn’t shared with us. We don’t currently use advertising or tracking cookies.
To confirm before launch: whether any analytics (e.g. a privacy-friendly visitor count) will be added — if so, this section needs updating.
We keep order records for as long as we need to for the order and to meet tax and accounting obligations, then delete them. Emails are kept only as long as useful.
You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it — email hello@theluminary.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk) if you think we’ve mishandled your data.
